Yes I finally did it. It had it’s time and I have my reasons. Stopped keeping score a long time ago anyway. Wither now on the salon floor.

Say you’re sitting on a bookshelf. You have a long tail, whiskers, and beady little eyes. Suddenly you hear a sound and see a biped staring at you, looking, very quiet. He moves and you hide. The biped slams the books against the back of the shelf and you are pinned. Time passes and soon you feel a gloved hand on your tail. Light. The other hand, also gloved, catches the scurf of your neck. They you get a little drink and remember no more.

The moral of this story? Don’t hide behind things that can be moved by things bigger than you.

The management company of my apartment building has been running a recycling “pilot project” for the about the last 2 months. I’m happy to say that people are actually putting clean recyclables in the proper containers. It also warmed my heart to notice that the trash containers themselves are recyclable (#2 plastic).

I’ve been pushing like a mad man to get some positive definitive data to present at this year’s ASMS conference. For those who have not done research just imagine being obsessed about something that did not give you any superficial reason to be captivated by it. Maybe it is the hunt that I enjoy, I don’t know.

Anyway, I finally got an expected, clear result. Usually what I have been getting lately is a bucket of muck. Now I have to see how broadly I can apply my idea to my thesis project. This is just the start. At least it provides some encouragement to continue on the path. I’ve left out any detail about my ideas, I’ve already been scooped once and don’t want that to happen again.

Finally finished by abstract for a poster at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry conference. Been working my ass off trying to get some valid data to that I did not need to lie. Now I can take a day off. Too bad there is no one to share Valentines day with. Of course it is Friday the 13th today, so you never know.
